FIGHT MEMORIES

Rafael Marquez VS Israel Vazquez

This rivalry had a series of four boxing matches between 2007 and 2010. The first fight was described as “the most entertaining fight series in recent boxing history” and as a “sensational action fight”

In the first bout both boxers landed heavy punches throughout the fight. The fight was being dominated by Marquez, he landed an uppercut that broke the nose of Israel Vazquez in the opening round. Vazquez came back in the third round very strong that he was able to knock Marquez down. By the end of the fifth round the broken nose of Israel Vazquez was becoming a problem, they still continue for two rounds more then Vazquez couldn’t fight anymore and they announced Rafael Marquez as the winner of the fight.

This boxing series ended up with both fighters claiming to victories.

The punching power is generated from the body, not only your arms or fists. Is very important to include all your body when you’re punching. Some simple tips are:

  1. Relax your arms, this will save you more energy during your fight or training, you will increase the speed and have more power.
  2. Rotate your torso, spin into your opponent and and make that punch come out of your shoulders.
  3. Punch from different angles, you can have more opportunities by punching from different angles and rotating.
  4. Exhale on every punch, you release tension in your muscles and you act faster.
