This is a fight between undefeated eleven-time five-division professional boxing world champion and a current UFC Lightweight Champion. It will be at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on August 26, 2017.

Both fighters have been talking a lot and fans too, Mayweather was retired and only came back to do this fight between a UFC fighter and him. Connor McGregor has been really successful in the UFC but he has always maintained an interest in boxing. After a lot of rumors and conversations on March 7, 2017, Mayweather called upon McGregor to “sign the paper” and “make it happen” and on May 18th they say that McGregor agreed to all Mayweather’s terms.

Is expected that Mayweather will earn up to $100 million dollars and McGregor $75 million, the tickets are really expensive starting from 1900 dlls to 14, 1995 dlls.

What can we expect from this fight? A lot of fans are really not happy about this happening, but is already done. We will see and undefeated boxing champion vs a UFC champion fight in a boxing ring, both with peculiar moves and tactics. Some people say Mayweather will easily win because is boxing, but much other people want to see what McGregor can do in the ring hoping he could win.

BASIC BOXING PUNCHES

Learning the basic boxing punches is really important, you might think the point in boxing is just landing a punch however you want to throw it, but boxing actually haves rules and that´s why they are many types of punches and combos that you can learn and practice.

  1. Left jab: This punch is a shot in a straight line coming out basically from your chin. The power of the punch should come from your shoulders, is a really quick move but it can cause a lot of damage to your opponent.
  2. Right cross: When you throw this punch all your upper body must turn towards your opponent but without stepping down your chin guard at all times, usually is used followed by other punches or a combo.
  3. Left or right hook: This punch requires speed and power, usually used when the opponent has exposed himself and you can surprise him with a powerful left or right hook. You raise your elbow and you punch right across.
  4. Uppercut: This is a classic, the punch should be done quickly. You rotate your fist, bent your elbow, slightly dip at the waist and punch upward. Don’t lose your guard because your opponent can take advantage of that, you are extremely vulnerable.

After watching his fight with Jeff Horn in Australia we are all asking ourselves what should Manny Pacquiao do? Do you think he needs to retire? That maybe at 38 years old he doesn’t have the same power anymore?

Manny Pacquiao accepted his defeat and lost of the WBO title, but recently he requested to the WBO a review of  the refereeing and judging of the bout. “I love boxing, and I don’t want to see it dying because of unfair decision and officiating,” -Manny Pacquiao

The trainers of Manny Pacquiao say that the referee didn’t took the correct decisions by not stopping some head clashes that actually made two cuts to Pacquiao’s hair line and making him need stitches. What will happen with the request? For the moment we don’t know. What we do know is that the fight contract had a  rematch clause meaning that Manny Pacquiao could negotiate to fight Horn again before the end of the year.
