3 EFFECTIVE BOXING TIPS

BREATH

Breathing is really important! Sometimes we don’t notice but improper breathing can make you get tired sooner and faster. When you are punching you need to take a breath before the punch or combination and as you begin to throw the punch breath out, then just repeat: breath and breath out, breath and breath out. Simple right? Don’t forget it.

Keeping this steps will help you increase not only your endurance but your punching power!

FOOTWORK

As boxers the hands are very important but we must not forget the feet. The movement of your feet will make you faster to move in or out of the way when a punch is coming or when you need to get near your opponent. The footwork is very important not only when your fighting or sparring but when your training and hitting the bag, you always need to be light and not put too much weight on your front foot because you could lose balance easily and go directly to the mat.

WORK ON YOUR COMBINATIONS

We all have our favorite combination but that doesn’t mean we only practice or do one combination. We need to work on different movements, combinations of not only 1 or 2 punches but three or more, doing combinations of three punches for example will have more power that if you only throw a single punch.

Was it really worth this fight for Brook?

For many the result of GGG vs Special K fight was much anticipated, it was matter of time for GGG to show his power punches over Brook, on the very first round Brook got hurt badly and for a second some of us thought that the fight will not last longer than the second round, but in exchange we meet a very brave Kell Brook who we all saw by moments trading punches toe to toe against Golovkin, and expose that lack of defense he had. At the end happened what many people were thinking GGG won the fight.

Dominic Ingle did the right thing by stopping the fight, I could have been worst; at the end of the day a broken orbital bone will put Brook out of action for several months. Do you think the risk of moving up two divisions and facing GGG was really worth it?  Much respect for the very brave Brook and for his corner.

Cuadras VS Gonzalez fight review

We know that boxing and the fans won with this fight.  But do you agree with the judges scorecards about the Cuadras vs Gonzalez fight?

In a thrilling fight to remember these two warriors left everything on the ring. Carlos Cuadras the defending champion looking to keep his belt and add the first loss on Roman Gonzalez record, and Gonzalez also know for Chocolatito looking to make history becoming the first Nicaraguan boxer to win 4 titles in different weight classes.

Since the very beginning until the last minute of the twelve rounds the fight was pure action, back and forward punches, we could hear the chants from the crowds cheering “Mexico-Mexico” as well as the Nicaraguan fellas.

It was a fight that no one deserves to lose, and one thing we know for sure, boxing won that day, that was the kind of fight that we want to watch, that kind of effort, heart, crowd, that’s what every boxing fan asks for.

IMG_2852At the end of the fight we saw a Roman Gonzalez face that we have never seen before, we could see the struggles of the fight, which himself considerate “the most difficult” of his career, on the other hand we saw a confident Carlos Cuadras, smiling, nervous and waiting for the scorecard, everything seems normal when we heard the 115-113, but then there was a 117/111 which cause some controversy at the end.

There is no doubt that this was an amazing fight and for the good of boxing we all hope to see a rematch between this two!

For you, who won this fight?

PACQUIAO VS VARGAS

After waiting a few months since they announced this great fight between Manny Pacquiao who it is an eight-division world titleholder and welterweight titlist Jessie Vargas finally the day is here, tomorrow we will see this great fight.

As always we ask our self’s who is winning this fight? WHAT TO EXPECT!
We already know that Pacquiao is basically a legend in boxing and that a lot of boxers admire him and that is a dream and a challenge for them to fight with him.

Vargas has been very clear of what he is pursuing; he respects and admires Pacquiao’s trajectory but he wants to win this fight.

A lot of specialists on the sport have said that Pacquiao doesn’t have the force he used to, but still he has way more experience, skill and speed, they predict that he is going to win by points.

On the other side some specialist says that Vargas will give Pacquiao a really good fight and that fans are going to enjoy it. The is nothing else to do that wait for tomorrow!

So..are you Team Vargas or Team Pacquio?

WHO IS NEXT FOR MANNY?

We all saw the fight this Saturday November 5th between Jessie Vargas and Manny Pacquiao that happened in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the beginning we saw that Jessie was a little bit nervous and slow or maybe getting he was trying to get the rhythm and speed that Manny has. In round 4th we saw a more confident Jessie with some great punches and better movement that made the crowd get excited to see the response of Manny Pacquiao.

All fans were excited to see if Manny still has it and if the called ‘‘underdog’’ Jessie Vargas could beat a champion of 8 different divisions and with 10 years of age more than him. As final result Manny Pacquiao won by unanimous decision, and now he is the new WBO world welterweight champion and we can see that he has no intentions to retire like he said a few months ago on his previous fight.

But now the question that everybody is asking and thinking about…Who will be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent?

After the fight in an interview they asked him if maybe Terrance Crawford who was on the crowd, but also they mentioned Floyd Mayweather who was on the front row, obviously we all get excited by the thought that maybe a rematch could happen between this two great fighters, Manny just responded to every question that he didn’t know who could be his next opponent.

The final decision will ultimately be Mayweather’s , whether they have a rematch or the don’t. Would you like to see a rematch? There is a few more names on the list like:

Vasyl Lomachenko, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurma, Kell Brook or Amir Khan. Who do you think should be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent?

JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ JR.; WHAT IS NEXT FOR HIM?

After watching the fight  of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. VS Dominik Britsch this past weekend were he won the match after being out of the ring for a while, people are asking who is next for him.  Some rumors started after the fight between him and Canelo Alvarez who have been the most talked boxers in a few years. The rumors are that maybe a match could happen between them sooner than we think, we could be hearing more of this in January.

Until know the only thing that we know is that Canelo is in his best moment and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr made his return so people are expecting a lot of him, this match could really be good for both and gather a lot of fans in the same place. As we know Canelo had an injury in his last fight with Liam Smith but it seems like he is getting better and is possible that he will fight again in February.

For sure they are two great boxers and we hope to see them on the ring soon together or not. What do you think should happen?

How to use loop hand wraps?

Don’t get confused anymore! This hand wraps are supposed to make your life easier at the moment of training, they are easier to put on because they have and extra fabric with a loop where you just put you thumbs. But let’s do it by steps!

  1. Hold your hand in an open position and spread all you fingers.
  2. Slip the loop over your thumb that way the wrap is easily going around your hand starting from the back.
  3. Don’t forget to wrap your wrist too; you need enough support there too.
  4. When you finish wrapping as usual between your fingers just finish with the hook and loop to secure that the wraps doesn’t get loose or starts to fall.
  5. You are ready to train!

We made Carlos Cuadras gloves for the fight he is having this weekend vs Roman ”Chocolatito” in Inglewood, CA.

Our gloves have been preferred by many world champions since 1945, with extra-long laces, cowhide leather and horse hair padding the gloves make a difference in every fight.

In the last fight that Carlos Cuadras had he used our gloves in metallic gray and orange combination, this time he decided to choose a metallic blue with the Mexican flag colors around the logo, his punches are for sure going to be notice.

As him we are excited to for his fight this weekend, he mentioned in previous interviews that this is one of the most important fights in his career, and he trusts in his training and hard work he has been doing with his team and trainer. We wish luck to both fighters and hope that all boxing fans enjoy this fight.
